ISI Goes to FIG Working Week 2019 in Vietnam
In 22-26 April 2019, FIG conducted working week conference in Hanoi, Vietnam that was attended by delegations from many countries in the world. ISI, as a delegation and the only one member of FIG from Indonesia had opportunity to attend the event.
In welcome reception that was held in Daewoo Hotel, all attendees were introduced to culture and music of Vietnam, this event was getting interesting because the attendees met their alumni from university or from the same job expertise.
The event was opened by Prof. Rudolf Staiger as the chief of FIG, he said the importance of following the growth of the world, if we saw the last 30 years the world had changed significantly di every aspect. Technology, politic, and social condition which of course changed how our profession works. He said, “How do we have to prepare FIG for a good and prosperous future?”
In the next day, after technical program, attendees enjoyed Vietnamese Cultural Performance in Opera House. We were entertained by many music instruments of Vietnam, at a glance, the instruments looked alike our music instruments such as, Kecapi, Sasando, and Gendang.
In technical program, Dr. Bambang Edhi Leksono, a lecturer from ITB explained his research with Sudarman, Ratri Widyastuti, Winna Putri, Putri Rahmadani which title was “Fit for Purpose Land Administration Implementation to Accelerate Land Mapping in Sayang Village, Sumedang Regency, Indonesia. Delegation from Geospatial Information Agency of Indonesia (BIG) delivered their report about the status of developing of geodetic infrastructure in Indonesia, the presentation title was “The Improvement Status of the Indonesian Geodetic Reference Frames”.
Mr. Virgo as the chief of ISI explained the activities that ISI conducted after the last FIG working week in Istanbul, Turkey. In this session, Member Association Forum, almost every association member of FIG delivered their report. This session was hoped to be a media for every association in the world to learn each other.
