ISI Attends the Geospatial Information Board (BIG) Meeting on Discussions about ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on Surveying Services and Professional Geospatial Information (IG)

Thursday, May 16, 2019 ISI has attended the invitation of the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) or Badan Informasi Geospasial meeting,chaired by Suprajaka (Head of the SKIG BIG Center), Sumaryono and the staff from the ISI represented by Budy Andono (Chair of the ISI Ethics Council), Virgo Eresta Jaya (Chairman), Syartoni (Vice Chairman) Harto Widodo (General Secretary), Benny Prawira (Deputy Secretary General ), Lucky Fahriadi (general Exchequer), Loedewick C Suban (Board / Head of Survey Compartment, Infrastructure and Construction), Yusuf Hendra P (LSP ISI).
The agenda of the discussion at this meeting has two topics about ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) On Surveying Services by focusing on the Assessment Statement For ASEAN Registered Surveyor which presents challenges and opportunities for Indonesia. The results of the meeting were a statement of readiness of  Indonesian Surveyor Association or Ikatan Surveyor Indonesia (ISI) to be actively involved in the MRA which was strengthened by the leader of ISI statement that Indonesian surveyors were ready to open themselves to compete with fellow ASEAN members (16/10), surveyor’s law on  regulatory chief of B.I.G and the formulation of the position of the ISI as part of the association element of the Working Group at the Competent Authority (CA) Indonesia.

The things about management, mechanism and regulation will be discussed further perhaps that Indonesia will be able to prepare CA would produce and account for measurable and structured surveyors in ASEAN.
